I came here via RaptorsRepublic to check out your Raps' preview..... I stopped reading after your first sentence referred to their GM as "Jerry" Colangelo.

Brutal.

i would hope that the sixers aren't stupid enough to trade thaddeus, as you predicted. the 21 year old has the highest ceiling on the team and is a star in the making...

The Nets are incredibly lucky Lopez fell into their laps at #10 after being projected to go 4th. Imagine how bad their front court would have been without him... I don't think the Nets will match last season's win total, not because they haven't improved, but because I don't see Devin Harris staying healthy (certainly not playing 82 games). Resting your all-star PG when you're thinking about the future is not a bad mindset for the longterm but will be devastating in the short term.

Sound analysis as always. I'm a bit higher on Boston as they still won 62 games last year even without Garnett after the all-star break, and they nearly went to the Conference Finals without him. Your defensive rating is always going to suffer when Brian Scalabrine is playing instead of Kevin Garnett.

Let's not forget that a big reason their defense slid is they effectively replaced James Posey with Glen Davis. The hope was that Tony Allen would be able to step in for Posey but he (predictably) got hurt, which is why Boston brought in Marquis Daniels.

They are also swapping Rasheed Wallace in for Leon Powe. Sheed also provides the extra 3pt shooting they lost when Posey departed. All in all, it's a deeper team than it was last year, when they won 62 games.

Its Bryan Colangelo, not Jerry Colangelo, moron. Whoever gave you the slimmest opportunistic thought to write a NBA preview column must have been high on acid, because this is the poorest constructed piece of writing I have ever seen. Do not quit your day-job, if you even have one...
