The Miami Heat are being billed to get a third straight NBA for South Beach, and though many say it’s too early to be saying this, the ending of the free agency is a good time to let us look at what team has the best NBA odds next year and which has the worst.
Changing Fortunes?
Hot on Miami’s trail are the Oklahoma City Thunder and Chicago Bulls, with the San Antonio Spurs only slightly further behind. Another team of interest is the Houston Rockets. At the end of the 2012-13 season, the Houston Rockets had odds of 20/1 to win the title but the free agency has dramatically raised the Rockets chances. They were previously ranked as eighth most likely to win the title, behind Los Angeles Clippers and the Knicks. The arrival of Dwight Howard, however, puts them just behind Thunder, at odds of 9/1.
On top of this, the Miami Heat are looking to be the first team to Three-peat since the Lakers did it in the early 2000s. The Heat trump card LeBron James won his fourth MVP last year. However hard James may try to avoid the gossip around a free agency return to his former home, the Cleveland Cavaliers, it is evident that it will be a matter under close scrutiny all season.
