1. Greek Freak Projected: Amidst the waste land that is Milwaukee’s horrible season, there are few rays of hope. Somehow the Bucks have managed to pull off being horrible offensively (29th) and defensively (29th) and have done so at a slow boring pace (25th in the NBA). Transactions: Deadline Round Up

The trade deadline has come and gone and, yet again, we are underwhelmed with the results. No big names were moved. Rather, most of the trades came down to the dregs of the Eastern Conference trying desperately to eke into the playoffs or, perhaps equally desperately, trying to get above the seven seed and inevitable first round annihilation at the hands of Indiana or Miami. NBA Draft 2014: Top 60

The 2014 draft is starting to come into focus. Two things I can say for certain is that Joel Embiid has established himself as the best prospect out there and the draft will be dominated by perimeter players after he’s taken #1. After Embiid the big guys are an uninspiring bunch. I do think the 2014 draft has a chance to live up to its preseason billing of legendary. NBA Draft 2014: Top 60ish

After a couple months of play the numbers are starting to pile up. While “legendary” might be a tad premature, I think we can call the 2014 draft promising at this point. It still could go either way, but I like the mix of freshmen and returning players enough to think that at least a few star prospects will emerge. 1. Can Miami Three-Peat? James’ quest for a three-peat is not remarkably rare. In fact, we’ve had three in the past 20 years or so. (Michael Jordan did it twice and Shaq/Kobe Lakers had one as well (1999-00 through 2001-02). The Heat, however, are attempting a rarer feat. The mere ability to get back to the NBA Finals in four straight years is remarkably rare. West Preview: Predicting Records

The West is very good this year. Only Phoenix seems to be a lottery certainty. There are more elite teams in the West and more promising, young teams. This should be quite a year. Pacific Division 1. LA Clippers 52-30 2. Golden State Warriors 46-36 3. Phoenix Suns 25-57 4. LA Lakers 24-58 5. Sacramento Kings 20-62 The 2014 season will not be a good one for division named after oceans.
