1. The Things We Say: We're not too interested about what's going on this All-Star Weekend. We don't loath the show but frankly it's just not that much of a priority for us. Recently, we looked at the fact that P.J. Carlesimo had only one win as a Oklahoma City Thunder coach and reviewed each franchise's least successful coaches. Just so you don't think we dwell only on depressing things like coaches being fired, it bears noting that Jerry Sloan is now in his twentieth year of coaching and going pretty strong. This season I predicted the records a little differently. I still used the same process of taking production from the previous 2 seasons and adjusting for things like age and circumstance. The Western Conference powers have been gradually shifting. The old powers seem to be fading but still dangerous and the new power brokers that emerged in the 2007-08 playoffs look pretty significant too. This felt like one of the quicker off seasons we've had and now all of sudden a new NBA season is upon us. What has changed in these four months since the Celtics beat the Lakers?
